International co-operation

Innovillage is designated by the European Union as Finland’s National Competence Centre for Social Innovation. It collaborates with other competence centers on EU-level. Moreover, Innovillage is part of the International Network for Social Innovation Scaling and Systemic Transformation (INSISST) consortium together with centres from Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Poland and the Czech Republic.

In Finland – as well as globally – there is an increasing need for social innovations. They play a vital role in building a more sustainable and inclusive society, while addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable groups.

The European Union supports National Competence Centres for Social Innovation in its member states, along with national strategies, to strengthen the dissemination and implementation of social innovations across Europe. Innovillage operates as part of a network of all European competence centers and develop sustainable cooperation and knowledge sharing at the EU level.

In addition, Innovillage is part of the International Network for Social Innovation Scaling and Systemic Transformation (INSISST) consortium together with centres from Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Poland and the Czech Republic. The main objectives of this cooperation are the exchange of knowledge and the international dissemination of innovations.
